| Your photos are the first thing an agent sees. So although you don’t need to upload professional photos, make sure that they are in focus, natural, good quality head and full body shots.
Once an agent has invited you to join their agency, and you have agreed to be represented by them, now you need to make your impression at castings.
- Find out as much as possible about the role for which you are auditioning, e.g.What should I wear? What is the product being advertised or storyline? What character am I playing?
- If there is a script, get your agent to give you a copy so that you can familiarise yourself with the lines before you arrive.
- If you are auditioning for a specific character part, dress the part! The more effort you put in the better your chances. Directors and clients are often unable to visualise someone in plain dress as a 'wild tribesman', 'mafia boss', 'meter maid' etc. Therefore, the artists who take the time to dress in character present themselves in a better light.
- Remember to leave a good impression, so that you will be remembered the next time the casting director needs your type of person for a commercial.
- Always be sure to ask your agent exactly what the casting director is looking for.
Auditions can often take a lot of time, especially if a performance is required. If the casting director has given you a timeslot always try to be on time. |
